Orangeball 2010 – The Shenanigans

While most of the people who stayed at the Ramada in 2010 were sound asleep getting energy for their long rides home, some of us were up to a prank of epic proportions.

Our friend James returned to his room at 2am from a night of partying with people from another hotel (grr…) so our 10 man A-Team needed to take action!  We busted out 2000 feet of plastic wrap, pink duct tape and old sandwiches and got to work at 3am.

Interwoven within the layers and layers of plastic were some funky smelling Prosciutto and Capicola sandwiches we had lying around from when the Orangeball took off 2 days prior.  Most of the open holes were plugged up, unfortunately raccoons ate the sandwiches we left in the exhaust pipe.

The end product was finalized with a giant veiny pink cock on the side of the car, a handbrake symbol on the hood and a can of Bud Light on the antenna.  Not bad for an hour and a half of work.

Sunday morning came and a mysterious brown box appeared on the roof of the car, I guess someone else found the car while we were asleep and added to the masterpiece.  What would James think of our handy work?

Thumbs up from the man himself!  Good work guys! Now it’s time to clean all that crap off and pump up for Orangeball 2011!

Until next year Orangeballers!  Check out the rest of the set below!

Orangeball 2010 – The Show

It’s time for the meat and potatoes of what everyone’s been waiting for, pictures of Waterfest 2010.

Thousands of people and cars poured into Raceway Park for the two day event.  Everything from old school Sciroccos and MK1 Rabbits to newer Porsche and Audi models made their way to the show grounds.

The big shops brought out their masterpieces including this R8 Twin Turbo, however every shop was out and about promoting their brands and trying to grab the visitor’s attentions.

Waterfest is jam packed with activities like a dyno booth and a drag strip.  We were lucky enough to catch the very first drag race of the famous big turbo, wide body R32 from JA Tuning.

As you can see, this R32 is no mere show car.  It puts down some serious power to all four wheels and although the owner says he mis-shifted during the race you can see that a quarter mile time of 12.6 seconds is definitely a respectable time.

The festivities wouldn’t be complete without the visitors showcasing their cars.  The picture of the bagged Passat above was taken at the Chili’s after party but as you’ll see from the pictures below, there definitely was a crazy.

Orangeball 2010 – The Party

After more than 6 hours driving through the American Northeast, the only thing that the Orangeballers wanted upon arrival was to rest up for the impending hotel madness.

The unlimited supply of bleach from the local Wal-Mart ensured that by the end of the evening most of the people attending the burnout sessions would leave with a minor case of lung burn.

Wal-Mart also was gracious enough to lend us a few shopping carts so the annual cart jousting tournament could take place.  I’m not sure who won this year but I did remember seeing a guy sailing through the air after taking a nasty jousting hit.

The local police department was on hand to make sure everyone was not too destructive.  One poor guy decided to test their patience too far and met the full force of North Brunswick’s boys in blue… although their uniforms were change to black for 2010 for some reason.  The officers looked better in blue in my opinion, but then again I’m not a police stylist.

Rest assured that the burnouts continued well into the night and not a single person was killed in the process.

Orangeball 2010 – The Ride

Orangeball 2010 came and went but with it came a heap of memories and experiences.  Over the next few weeks we’re going to be uploading our photos taken by MjK Photography.

50 cars and more than 100 people made the journey to Waterfest this year with the Orangeball Rally.  Our journey took us an average of 7 hours to complete and happily went off without a hitch.

The rest of the pictures will be uploaded over the next few weeks, so stay pegged onto OrangeballRally.com for the rest of the pictures!
